E. Mutual Storytelling Technique

January 31st, 2010

The Mutual Storytelling Technique (MuST) represents higher-order thinking skills applied to fiction and nonfiction. So, Fables fit perfectly into a MuST strategy.

The Mutual Storytelling Technique is basically a retelling of a story; but, instead of retelling the story for accuracy, the story is retold to create a more positive, more insightful, more emotionally, mentally and interpersonally adaptive rendition.

The Mutual Storytelling Technique adds super-power to the already dynamic wisdom of Fables, and delivers even better (although less measurable) instructional outcomes than higher-order thinking skills assessments.

We provide a sample of what a MuST retelling might look like. However, students creating these retellings is more powerful and dynamic.
