C. Making Predictions
Making Predictions requires higher-level thinking skills such as analysis, synthesis and evaluation. And, since putting divergent thoughts together to solidify a prediction requires judgment and insight; Making Predictions is an application-based skill.
Making Predictions relies upon the internal processing of a myriad of facts, concepts, opinions and experiences. But, when the processing of those components of predicting happen lightening fast; we label the process intuition or instinct.
Master teachers challenge students to hone and sharpen their skills at predicting, since these skills form the foundation for problem-solving and decision-making.
Really, forming predictions is the other face of a problem-solving / decision-making complex of skills.
